Description
Achieve dramatic effects with full relief carving, fine line shading and soft metal inlay. The course material covers multiple techniques to achieve three-dimensional work, beautiful scrolls, advanced inlay, leaves, and sculpted steel. These techniques work well with knives, jewelry, bits and spurs, and firearms. Three-dimensional styled work brings depth to a workpiece–a great way to make work stand out from the competition.

- Design scrolls and layout for projects
- Quality line shading
- Make and use of special tools and gravers
- Gold wire inlay
- Shadowing to create depth without having to do background removal
- Sculpted steel
- Resist etching on Damascus project (as time allows)

Prerequisites
Completion of a GRS Basic Metal Engraving course or instructor approval is required, as well as an understanding of proper tool sharpening and basic engraving techniques.
